I don't want to belabor on the point that the officials working towards making the games a success have failed miserably. A lot of obituary writers have done it already I need not waste my words and your time in saying it over again.
Personally, I do not know what went wrong and like all of you I would like an answer. But-not-now. Now is the time to stand behind those who are still trying to save some grace.
If we learn from history do we remember how many times we were embarrassed 'coz we were not united? No? Im sure you don't need a history lesson from me to remind you that we need to be united.
So I urge you all for a few days to do whatever you can to make these games a success. And you would say what can I possibly do? Well, I don't know, maybe if you are in Delhi, you can contribute by following traffic rules so that the visitors can move around comfortably(something you otherwise never think of doing!). You can try to keep the city clean(if you are so worried about our image to the outside world). I don't know, just do whatever you can which you think will make the games a success. And for God's sake stop criticizing the organizers.
I know its kind of hard to ask you for these big sacrifices, but it surely is easy to send the curator to the gallows but harder to follow some basic steps yourself.
And then a wise man once said, "tough times don't build a character, they reveal it!"
So guys relax, and trust me when I say, "All is well!"

Appreciate your judgment and indeed nice, crisp write
Completely agree with you, Rahul! While we are all cognizant of the mess that has become of CWG but now we all must move beyond chest beating and do our bit to salvage the situation. Lets “sound” a little more positive about the games.
Best,
Nipa
Quite right. As a matter of fact, I'll take the liberty to extend the logic to all people in public life. We just can't seem to stop criticizing the politicians for their blatant dishonesty (not without reason of course), what we fail to comprehend is that they are one from within us. If a large number of generally dishonest, unmotivated, not so dedicated people choose a few from among them, it doesn't take rocket science to come to the conclusion that the few chosen ones will also be dishonest and unmotivated. And thats whats happening in this country.
If people can be dishonest about house rents, medical bills to save a few thousand bucks in tax savings, how do a few chosen ones let go of a chance to swindle millions.
Completely echo the same views. Fed up of all the cribbing, nonsensical jokes, mockery at our own initiatives. If you can't help the cause do not add to the negativity.
nice post :)
I agree Ujj
and that's precisely my point, what have we all put together contributed to the successful organization of games. not a single initiative to help visitors, or even a technological innovation that would make the game memorable. Zilch.
why dont you go and stay in Delhi for a few days while this extraordinary infrastructural upgradation is going on. I am sure if you spend some time there you will not have the inclination or the heart to come out with this jingoistic nonsense.
